According to Tian Eye Check data, China Iron Tower (00788) registered on June 5 to establish a new company named "Iron Tower Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as"Iron Tower Energy"). Its registered capital is RMB 5 billion, and its legal representative is Liu Guofeng. Liu Guofeng previously served as general manager of China Tower Operation and Maintenance Department.

Registration information shows that the business scope of the tower energy company includes battery, photovoltaic, wind power, charging pile, energy products, energy system technology development, technical services, technical consultation; battery sales, leasing; software services; vehicle charging sales; power exchange facilities sales; power supply and so on.

It is reported that China Tower is a large telecommunication tower infrastructure service enterprise funded by China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom and China in 2014. The company is mainly engaged in the construction, maintenance and operation of communication tower and other supporting facilities of base stations, public network coverage of high-speed railway and metro, large-scale indoor distribution system.

On June 6, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued 5G commercial licenses to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Radio and Television. At the licensing ceremony, Tong Jilu, chairman and general manager of China Tower, said that the company had 195,000 stock sites, which were shared by China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Radio and Television.

In addition, in addition to developing telecommunication tower infrastructure services, China's tower also actively integrates industry chain resources, actively explores and promotes the application of power battery base station standby and socialized power security services, and carries out product innovation and external expansion of power battery in such areas as machine room standby, mobile power generation and energy storage services. Socialized management has taken the first exploratory step.

For example, in terms of power battery cascade utilization, in 2018, China Tower signed cooperation agreements with 11 new energy automobile mainstream enterprises such as FAW and SAIC on power battery recovery and utilization, stopped purchasing lead-acid batteries and unified purchasing of batteries for cascade utilization. By the end of 2018, about 120,000 base stations in 31 provinces and cities in China had used cascade batteries of about 15 GWh, replacing 45,000 tons of lead-acid batteries. According to China's tower plan, in 2019, it will continue to expand the scale of batteries used in cascade utilization. It is estimated that about 5GWh batteries will be used in cascade utilization, 150,000 tons of lead-acid batteries will be replaced, and more than 50,000 tons of decommissioned power batteries will be consumed.
